Rangers FC will take on FC Ufa in the first leg of the Europa League playoffs this week and the Gers will be hoping that they can pick up an easy victory.

Steven Gerrard is yet to lose to a game as the Rangers boss since he was appointed earlier this summer and the former Liverpool midfielder will be hoping to keep that winning streak going.

But there is a possibility that the game might be called off.

Reports this week have suggested that the FC Ufa team is finding it hard to get their visa for travelling to Scotland and if these issues cannot be sorted out then the match might just be postponed.

After the death of a Russian spy in England some time ago, Russian have found it really hard to get visas for the UK and FC Ufa might get caught amongst this mess.

Generally, a visa to the United Kingdom takes around five days to be processed but Ufa do not have that much time on their hands as a result of which they have applied the approvals to be fast-tracked.

The Ufa officials have made multiple visits to the UK embassy in Russia and they are quite confident that the visa will be provided by Wednesday.

Gazizov said: “At the moment, almost all the players have applied for a UK visa and the whole issue should be decided within 24 hours.”

Since the visas will arrive only days before the Europa League clash, FC Ufa have decided to stay in Moscow and will head directly to Scotland from there.

FC Ufa faced Dynamo Moscow in the Russian Premier League during the weekend which they ended up losing 3-0.
