Manchester City have started the new Premier League season right where they left of last campaign and two games in the competition, Pep Guardiola’s side already look unbeatable.

But one team that has been backed by a number of pundits to provide a tough challenge to the defending champions, is Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool.

The Merseyside outfit have also made a fine start to their new campaign – picking up all six points from their first two games and Klopp’s men are now the second best team in the Premier League.

But it seems that both their strikers Roberto Firmino and Gabriel Jesus had suffered very different fates during the past week.

Both the strikers have made great starts to the new season but only one of them has been called up for the Brazilian national team.

Tite has chosen to snub Gabriel Jesus and give Roberto Firmino a chance up front during Brazil’s upcoming friendlies against the United States and El Salvador.

But instead of getting angry or sad about the snub, Gabriel Jesus has taken it very positively saying“They called me minutes before the announcement. I was happy with the call, but obviously, I was not happy to be left out,

“I always want to play for City and for my country. It does not mean, however, that I am angry with someone at the football federation.

“I will keep working but I accept that other players deserve a chance, like [Roberto] Firmino, who has been playing really well since last season.”

While you can sense a tad bit of regret in his statement but you can clearly see why Tite has chosen to go with Roberto Firmino instead of the Man City man.

Gabriel Jesus started all five games for Brazil during the Russia World Cup and failed to score even a single goal. So it’s time for him to step down and let Roberto Firmino take centre stage.
