Victor Osimhen has been tipped to leave during the January transfer window with clubs like Arsenal, Chelsea and PSG interested in signing him.

A broken relationship with the Napoli management at the start of the season gave even more wind to Osimhen’s exit but the Nigerian international has made it clear that he does not wish to leave this month.

Victor Osimhen has admitted that he could play for a Premier League club in the future, however, he has no plans to leave Italy any time soon.

“I am happy with the president [of Napoli],” Osimhen told Sky in Italy[h/t Fotmob]. “I have a good relationship with him, I cannot lie, he has been with me since I signed for the club in 2020. I have a good relationship with his family also.

“It is always important for me to make sure there is nothing wrong, regardless of what has happened, with the relationship with him and his family.

“He has been supportive of me outside the pitch and of course I give my all trying to win the Scudetto with them.”

It’s actually not a big surprise that Victor Osimhen won’t be leaving in January because he has already signed a new deal with Napoli plus the Serie A side have slapped a £100m transfer fee on the striker’s shoulders. He’s failed to replicate his form from last season which saw him score 31 goals in 39 league matches but the 25-year-old remains a key part of the Napoli squad.

Such a steep fee isn’t in the reach of Arsenal or Chelsea and both the London sides are already scouting their other options. The Gunners have been linked with Getafe striker Borja Mayoral and Bologna’s Zirkzee alongside the more obvious Ivan Toney.

Mikel Arteta needs attacking reinforcements for the second half of the season but the manager has also admitted that he might have to do without a new arrival. The Gunners spent a lot of money on Declan Rice in the summer so the only way they can spend £70-80 million this month is by offloading their unwanted players.

Chelsea, on the other hand, are actively searching for a new centre-forward and they are said to be interested in players like Karim Benzema and Roberto Firmino. Poch has openly admitted that he needs new players this month and there’s a consensus amongst the experts that Boehly won’t mind spending money on reinforcements.
