West Ham United were targetting a move for Sunderland youngster Josh Maja but now the Hammers could give up that chase.

Maja is out of contract at Sunderland this summer and the London outfit were planning to bring him in this month as a replacement for Marko Arnautovic who was scheduled to leave for China.

But now reports suggest that Arnautovic will not be leaving the London Stadium since the Chinese club have pulled off from the deal.

And many feel that West Ham can now drop their interest in Josh Maja which in turn will be really good news for Tottenham as well as Man City, both of whom are also interested in the forward.

But Maja will not want to join either of these two clubs since constant first team appearances will be really hard to come by under both Pochettino as well as Pep Guardiola.

On the other hand though, some pundits are claiming that Marko Arnautovic will most certainly leave West Ham United during the summer so it would make absolute sense for them to keep their pursuit of Josh Maja going.

Maja joined was actually a Manchester City youth team product but he left the Citizens to join Sunderland in 2015.

Since then he has come up the ranks and this season the 20-year-old has scored 15 goals in just 29 games for Sunderland.

Sunderland will be eager to offload him this month since he will become a free agent at the end of the season but none of the clubs seems to be interested in signing the youngster this month.
