Arsenal might have picked up an all-important win against Chelsea this weekend in the Premier League but it seems that the win has come at a heavy cost.

We are obviously talking about Hector Bellerin who suffered a very nasty knee injury during the second half of the game.

The Spaniard had missed almost a month of action during the festive period due to a calf strain and just when he had returned back to full fitness the player has once again been sidelined.

In the second half, Hector Bellerin went down clutching his knee and replays showed that possibly his ACL had given way.

The right-back was stretched off the pitch and the Arsenal manager later confirmed that Hector Bellerin’s injury might be serious.

Speaking after the win, Emery said: ‘We will wait. It’s his knee.

‘The prediction is it could be an important injury. I hope no, but our first impression is not positive.

“We have Ainsley, playing with good pieces. He played well [against Chelsea] and can help us,

“Also Lichtsteiner is another player who can play there. We have the players. Don’t forget [Carl] Jenkinson, who has played some matches and can be used if we need him.”

Now latest reports are claiming that Hector Bellerin might be forced to sit out the whole season and his recovery time is expected to be around nine months.

This is a huge blow for Arsenal since the manager is already struggling with his defenders and Hector Bellerin was undoubtedly one of his best players.

Following this revelation, many believe that Unai Emery will have no other option but to make a panic buy this month in order to cover the gaping hole left behind by Hector Bellerin.
