West Ham United have made a number of signings during the summer transfer window and with that some players are also expected to leave the club before the new Premier League season kicks off.

And one such player was expected to be Javier Hernandez who joined the London club just last summer.

Hernandez joined the Hammers from Bayer Leverkusen on a three-year contract for a fee reported to be around £16 million and managed to make an average impact during the 2018-19 campaign.

Javier Hernandez played 33 games in all competitions last season – scoring 8 goals which is not exactly on par with what he is capable of. So many reports suggested that West Ham would try and offload him in order to bring in a new striker for the next campaign.

But Hammers sporting director Mario Husillos had made it clear that the 30-year-old is not for sale during the summer.

Husillos said“Offers? There surely won’t be any because people know we have him. For the moment, he’s not on the market at all.

“His [Pellegrini’s] style favours attacking players because it is to maintain possession, attack, reach the area and create opportunities. The forwards in general are benefited by this type of play.”

Before this statement, it was being reported that West Ham are ready to accept a bid in the region of £16 to £20 million for Javier Hernandez but now that Husillos has more or less secured the striker’s future at the club, fans are hoping that he can deliver the goods this time around.
