West Ham United have signed a number of new players during the summer transfer window but with that manager, Manuel Pellegrini has to also deal with a series of long-term injuries.

The trio of Winston Reid, Andy Carroll and Manuel Lazini are all sidelined with respective injuries but it seems that the Hammers have finally received some good news from their medical staff.

While Winston Reid and Manuel Lanzini are still are a long way away from full fitness, latest reports have suggested that forward Andy Carroll could be back before Christmas.

The 29-year-old has been recovering from an ankle injury and initially, it was thought that he would not make it back before the new year.

But according to Claret and Hugh, Andy Carroll is already back in the gym and will hopefully report back to the squad by November.

This return of the 29-year-old though has very little to do with his involvement in the first team actions and the fans are happy because their club would be able to sell him off during the January transfer window.

The Hammers have signed the likes of Felipe Anderson, Lucas Perez and Xande Silva during the summer which means that Andy Carroll will fall down the pecking order once he returns back to the squad.

In such a scenario it makes absolute sense to offload him during the summer and him returning back to full fitness will go a long way in finding a buyer for the former Liverpool man.

Andy Carroll played just 16 games in the Premier League last season and managed to score 3 goals and with a number of striker at their disposal, there’s no point in carrying a burden around for the club.
