West Ham United have reopened talks with PSG in order to bring Javier Pastore to the London Stadium – according to reports.

Pastore joined PSG in 2011 from Palermo for a transfer fee of €39.8 million and after playing a pivotal role in the PSG midfield for a couple of seasons, his role has diminished to a large extent.

In the 2017-18 season, Pastore managed to play only 34 games in all competitions for the Ligue 1 side.

And with only one year left on his current contract, the Hammers are planning to launch a bid for Javier Pastore.

The 28-year-old is primarily an attacking midfielder but he is known for his versatility and various PSG managers have used him across different positions in the attacking half during his stint at the club.

PSG have splurged a lot of cash in the transfer market last summer and that has reportedly messed up their financial reports.

News has it that the club are on the verge of a Financial Fair Play sanction and hence they are looking to offload a couple of players in the hopes of balancing the books.

Reports suggest that West Ham are confident of bringing Javier Pastore to the London Stadium and the club are of the view that a bid in the region of £17.5 million should be good enough to secure the deal.

But the biggest roadblock in the move is the fact that Javier Pastore is currently demanding wages which are believed to be in the region of £190,000-a-week and that is making West Ham United have second thoughts.

West Ham though are not the only club interested in signing Javier Pastore as reports from Italy suggest that AS Roma are also interested in signing the attacking midfielder.

Manuel Pellegrini along with West Ham United’s new director of football Mario Husillos have been entrusted with rebuilding the squad for the upcoming campaign and the club’s interest in Javier Pastore is surely a step in the right direction.
