West Ham United’s first game of the new season ended in defeat at the hands of Liverpool but Manuel Pellegrini’s side hope to turn the tide in their favour this weekend when they take on AFC Bournemouth at home.

The Hammers were thrashed 4-0 at Anfield and this result was a serious setback for a number of fans especially when the club had spent so much money on bringing in new players during the summer transfer window.

Players like Anderson and Jack Wilshere all made their debut during the Liverpool game but like most of the team, they too were mediocre in their performances.

Pellegrini though will not be too heartbroken with the result given that he was in charge of his first ever competitive game for the Hammers and they were up against a side like Liverpool. But the fans can expect their manager to make a couple of changes when they take on AFC Bournemouth this weekend.

West Ham vs Bournemouth team news:

Lukasz Fabianski played his first game for the London outfit since arriving from Swansea during the summer and the keeper made as many as four saves during the game so he should be back in front of goal for the Bournemouth clash.

Summer signing Balbuena started in the centre-back role against Liverpool but the former Corinthians man is expected to drop down to the bench and is likely to replaced by another new arrival – Issa Diop.

Left-back Ryan Fredericks also played his first game for West Ham since joining the club from Fulham on a free transfer and he is expected to keep his place in the starting line-up while right-back Masuaku is likely to be replaced by Arthur Cresswell.

The midfield area should not see a major transformation as Jack Wilshere is expected to keep his place in the starting line up despite his average performance against Liverpool. The only change will be in central midfielder where Obiang will hopefully start alongside Mark Noble.

Michail Antonio had a terrible outing last weekend and Manuel Pellegrini will surely drop his to the bench. This means that 28-year-old Yarmolenko is expected to start his first game for the Hammers on the right wing.

West Ham vs Bournemouth predicted line-up:

Goalkeeper: Fabianski.

Defence: Fredericks, Ogbonna, Diop, Cresswell.

Midfield: Noble, Obiang, Wilshere.

Attack: Anderson, Yarmolenko, Arnautovic.
