Arsenal keeper Petr Cech has announced that he will be retiring from professional football at the end of the 2018-19 season.

The Czech Republic keeper joined the Gunners back in back in 2015 and since then the Cech has been the No 1 at the Emirates.

But this season with the signing of Bernd Leno, Petr Cech has fallen down the pecking order and despite a bright start to the campaign, right now the 36-year-old is mostly used during the European and club games.

While some reports have claimed that the Gunners want to keep hold of the veteran in some form but it is still not sure as to what behind the scenes role, the club are planning to offer him.

But now the Telegraph are claiming that it will be Chelsea who are likely to make the first move by offering Petr Cech a job at Stamford Bridge.

Petr Cech spent more than a decade with the Blues and it was with them that the keeper tasted most of his success.

So it would be natural for the Blues to call him back.

Chelsea’s former technical director Michael Emenalo resigned in 2017 and the club are yet to replace him and the report claims that the management wants to bring back Petr Cech by offering him the technical director’s role.

It is still unsure whether Petr Cech would be keen to go back to Stamford Bridge but right now it looks like the keeper is focusing on ending the last few months of his contract with Arsenal on a high note.

Arsenal are still playing in the Europa League and there is a huge possibility that Cech might end his professional career by winning a silverware – something which he hasn’t done too often since he joined Arsenal.
