Rangers have been in the pursuit of Motherwell FC winger Jake Hastie for some time now and it looks like the club have finally managed to sign him.

Jake Hastie is an academy product at Motherwell and this season the youngster has been a constant figure at Fir Park.

So far during the 2018-19 season, Jake Hastie has played 41 games in all competitions for Motherwell scoring 11 goals and making seven assists.

But with his current deal expiring at the end of the season, there had been many rumours that the winger might be on his way out of the club during the summer.

And these rumours were more or less confirmed when Steven Gerrard showed his interest in signing Hastie as a free agent.

The Rangers manager said: “It’s no secret that there’s an interest there but until we get it complete, there’s nothing really to say on it.

“I’m not going to sit here and deny it because obviously, it’s out there that there is an interest.”

And now the Motherwell manager has come out to claim that Jake Hastie will not be staying at Fir Park next season.

While Robinson refused to name the club but it is more or less certain that the 20-year-old will be heading to Ibrox during the summer.

“Jake won’t be signing for me,” he said.

“I believe he has signed for another club, but it’s not for me to announce that – I will leave that to other people.”

While the transfer will be free since Jake Hastie will become a free agent after the month of May but given that he is an academy product of Motherwell, Rangers will have to pay the club a development fee.
