Chelsea picked up a superb win against Liverpool in the FA Cup in midweek and next up they host Everton in the Premier League.

The win vs Liverpool has given hope to a lot of people that the Blues should be able to pick up a win against Carlo Ancelotti’s men but pundit Charlie Nicholas feels the Toffees can try and gain something from their West London trip.

Nicholas told Sky Sports: “I’ve done a lot of Everton under Carlo Ancelotti and he’s done a very good job, but there are times when his side haven’t actually played very well.

“I recall a game I covered at West Ham and in the late win over Watford where I felt they were slightly fortunate. They didn’t deserve it, but he’s got Dominic Calvert-Lewin scoring goals.

“Everton are unpredictable as they’ve still got problems at the back, but Chelsea at home are so inconsistent. They sometimes seem to run out of legs.

“The sufferance that youngsters always bring is that after the great adrenaline in the early part of the season, they then feel the stress and the strain when results don’t go so well.

“Olivier Giroud has come into the team and been excellent, but they’re still too risky at the back. I wouldn’t be at all surprised if Everton went and got something out of this game.”

Will Chelsea drop points yet again?

The Blues have been really poor at home this season and so far they have managed to win just six matches at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea have drawn three and lost five games at the Bridge this season and given the form that Everton are in right now, there’s every chance that Lampard’s men suffer yet another loss in the Premier League.

Also, the Blues manager is dealing with a number of big injury concerns with the likes of Willian, Kovacic, Hudson-Odoi and Kante all injured and even Jorginho is suspended for this tie.

The Toffees go into this match having lost just one out of their last five league games and their recent draw vs Man United would have surely given the side a big boost.
