Arsenal have struggled with what to do with Mesut Ozil and many believe the playmaker will be offloaded by Emery during the summer transfer window.

Mesut Ozil is under contract at the club until 2021 but this season, Unai Emery has used the German sparingly which is a clear indication that the player does not have a long-term future at the club.

This season, Ozil has played in only 24 league games so far and most of these have come off the bench during the second half of games.

And during these 24 appearances, the playmaker has managed to score only five goals and provide two assists.

There were reports that the Gunners wanted to sell him off during the January transfer window itself but the transfer did not go through since they failed to attract a buyer.

Mesut Ozil currently receives around £300k/week in the form of wages and most believe that this was the biggest hurdle in finding a new club for the German.

Now though reports are claiming that Ligue 1 champions PSG wanted to sign Mesut Ozil during the January transfer window.

But it was the German who refused to join the Parisian club.

The report claims that the playmaker was not too keen to play under Thomas Tuchel and instead he chose to stay back at the Emirates and fight it out.

Mesut Ozil had recently claimed that he has no plans to move out of London at the end of the season but surely Emery will have other plans for him.

The Arsenal boss is in dire need of funds for his rebuilding plans and that can only be achieved by selling a number of players from the current bunch.

And with Mesut Ozil currently being the highest paid Gunners right now, it is more or less certain that the German will be on his way out of the club sometime during the summer.
