Rangers FC have signed 15 new players during the summer transfer window and new manager Steven Gerrard has looked towards his former club Liverpool for inspiration.

Gerrard has brought in players like Ryan Kent and Jon Flanagan from Liverpool during the summer and reports suggest that the former Reds midfielder had plans to sign even more players from Anfield.

The player in question is 20-year-old striker Dominic Solanke who has been finding it really difficult to get game time under Jurgen Klopp ever since he moved to Liverpool last summer.

Solanke spent his youth career with Chelsea but after managing to make only a single senior appearance for the Blues, Dominic left the club and joined Liverpool once his contract expired in 2017.

And last season the striker made 21 appearances in the Premier League for Liverpool but most of them were off the bench.

Dominic Solanke is way below the pecking order at Anfield – behind the likes of Firmino, Mane and Salah so naturally, Steven Gerrard knowing him well wanted to bring him to Ibrox on a season-long loan deal.

But according to the latest reports, while the player was keen to work under Gerrard, Jurgen Klopp refused to let Dominic Solanke leaving believing the striker will have a big role to play during the current campaign.

Liverpool are attacking all fronts this season so naturally, Dominic Solanke might be selected for the less important cup games but looking at the wide array of talent infront of him, it is hard to see where his league starts will be coming from.
