Arsenal lost their opening two games of the new Premier League season to Manchester City and Chelsea and everyone thought that the Gunners were in for yet another poor season.

But since then Unai Emery’s team have recovered well, winning games against West Ham and Cardiff City and now they are up against a weak Newcastle United side this weekend.

The Magpies have lost three of their opening four games and this game against Arsenal could not have come at a more awful time.




While everyone expects Unai Emery’s side to pick up an easy three points on Saturday, the manager though has made it clear what he expects from his playing eleven when they take the field at St James’ Park.




Talking to the press, Unai Emery said: “Firstly we need to win and I think it is very important that in the last match we won,

“Our aim away at Newcastle on Saturday now is to keep improving things and continue to create our idea, build up our spirit on the pitch, individually and collectively.








“Saturday is another step we can do, it will be difficult but I want to continue (to show) our personality on the pitch and impose this personality on the opposition and to find the win.”

Arsenal have got back all their major first team players before the game with the likes of Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang and Lucas Torreira returning back to London after getting special permission from their national teams.




Another major selection boost that Unai Emery will receive is the return of Alex Iwobi who is expected to feature against Newcastle United after having missed the Cardiff City due to illness.
