A series of top Premier League clubs have been linked with Bayer Leverkusen’s midfielder Kai Havertz but some rumours claim that Bayern Munich are the favourites to sign him.

The 20-year-old has been one of the most talked-about players in European football this year and clubs like Chelsea, Man United, Liverpool and Manchester City are all said to be interested in signing him.

But now Bayern Munich manager Hansi Flick has shown his public admiration for Kai Havertz which has led many people to believe that the Bavarians could be preparing to launch a bid.

“I think very few coaches wouldn’t want to have Kai Havertz in their team,” the Bayern manager said, as reported by MEN.

“He has developed enormously at Leverkusen. He moves very well between the lines, is quite fast, safe on the ball and is good at finding space. He has got a strong goalscoring instinct at a young age.”

Why Kai Havertz is not likely to join Bayern Munich:

Any young player would want to join a club like Bayern Munich but there are two big reasons why Kai Havertz will not likely move to the Allianz Arena.

The first big reason is that recently, Manchester Evening News had claimed that the attacking midfielder is eager to move to the Premier League once he decides to exit Bayer Leverkusen.

The exclusive report claimed: “MEN Sport understand Havertz views a move to the Premier League as a very realistic option at the end of the season, with United one of many sides impressed by his recent performances.

“Havertz is currently loving life playing for Bayer Leverkusen and values the trust which they have put in him since his breakthrough four years ago, however, he isn’t fazed about the prospect of moving abroad at such a young age.”

The second reason because the club’s assistant coach, Marcel Daum had hinted that Leverkusen will not let Kai Havertz move out on a cheap transfer.

The 33-year-old coach told talkSPORT.com: “The situation with coronavirus is so strange and so complicated that it’s still open that he will leave us.

I don’t know what will happen, but at Bayer he has the right place to develop his strengths and improve. The only thing I know is that Bayer won’t sell him for a cheap fee.”

If this statement from Daum is true then we do not think Bayern Munich are the favourites to sign the 20-year-old since the Bavarians are not known to be massive spenders in the transfer market.

Thus, it will be interesting to see as to which Premier League side Kai Havertz chooses if he decides to head out of Germany this summer.
