Arkadiusz Milik to Arsenal
Arkadiusz Milik

Napoli centre-forward Arkadiusz Milik in on the transfer radar of Premier League sides Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur for quite some time now.

But it looks like both the North London sides are set to miss out on the 26-year-old since reports hint that he could have decided to remain in the Serie A beyond the summer.

According to a report from Corriere dello Sport, Arkadiusz Milik is set to sign a new deal with Napoli in the coming few months.

Milik joined Napoli in 2016 from Ajax and during the 2019-20 season, the centre-forward has played in 16 Serie A games, racking an impressive tally of nine goals. And rumours were ripe that Napoli are ready to part ways with him as they are desperately in need of funds.

Under the terms of his current deal, Arkadiusz Milik has one year left on his current deal which is why the Italian side were ready to sell him off for around £45 million which was the perfect price bracket for both Arsenal and Spurs.

Now the rumours of this new deal could potentially derail the interests of the Premier League sides as there’s no denying that as soon as the 26-year-old signs the new contract, Napoli will bump up their asking price.

By how much we have no idea but surely Spurs and Arsenal do not have the financial might this time around which is why they will have no other option but to pull the plug on this transfer.

The Gunners might still have a chance of signing Arkadiusz Milik if they manage to offload Alexandre Lacazette for a handsome transfer fee but there’s no way Jose Mourinho will be able to afford him.

Arsenal and Spurs aren’t the only sides interested in the centre-forward as Juventus have also been linked with him over the past few months.

Now, all we have to do is to wait and see if Milik signs a new deal or not. And if he does then what’s the revised price that Napoli quote?
