Mesut Ozil Arsenal team news

Mesut Ozil signed a new deal at the start of 2018 with Arsenal which meant the German would be playing a key role for a couple of more seasons.

But this season, Mesut Ozil has clearly fallen down the pecking order and it is more or less clear that the player will be sold off during the summer transfer window.

Emery wanted to offload the playmaker in January itself but no one really showed an interest in signing him.

Up until now, Mesut Ozil has played in only 18 Premier League games this season and only about half of them have been starts.

This clearly shows Emery is more than happy to name his first XI without the German and with the season coming to an end there is no real positive sign that Mesut Ozil will get his role back in the first XI.

Some pundits are still optimistic that the playmaker would be able to win back the trust of his manager but if Wojciech Szczesny’s recent comments are to be believed then Ozil’s career at the Emirates is well and truly over.

Szczesny said: ‘Seven times he’s brilliant, two times he’s horrible.

‘He can’t stabilise his form in the Premier League and I really can’t tell why. He has unbelievable vision.

‘You watch a match on TV & you’re like, ‘how has he seen that? I haven’t & I’ve got the whole screen on TV.’

To be very frank, not many clubs are interested in buying Mesut Ozil during the summer but Unai Emery will have to offload him in order to free up some funds.

Currently, the playmaker is the highest earning player at the club selling him would mean Emery can then bring in a handful of new players.
