Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford has been in fine form this season and under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer the academy graduate has found a new lease of life.

Under former boss Jose Mourinho, Rashford did play a lot of matches but in most of them, the forward was deployed in the flanks while Romelu Lukaku played down the middle.

But Solskjaer has chosen to use Marcus Rashford as his sole frontman and even while Lukaku has played, the Norwegian has opted to go with two out and out strikers.

This positional change has really upped the England international’s game and so far, Marcus has scored 12 goals in 38 games during the 2018-19.

But recently Marcus Rashford was asked about the Premier League striker he really admires to which he had a really surprising answer.

“I think, probably the most all-round centre-forward is Sergio Aguero,” Marcus Rashford said to GQ(via MEN).

“Even on an off day, he can score you three or four goals. That, for me, is one trait of a centre-forward that I would take all day long.

“When you’re not having a good game, but you’re still scoring goals. That is a skill on its own.

“Also Harry Kane, his positioning, his movement – very clever player. I like [Pierre-Emerick] Aubameyang as well.

“I think for me, [Ryan] Giggsy, Nicky Butt, [Paul] Scholesy, Gary Neville – they’ve been the example to a lot of the young ones coming up, and they’ll be forever that.

“So they hold special value, probably, to every academy player at United.

“Then for me, it was the players like [Wayne] Rooney, [Cristiano] Ronaldo. [Ruud] Van Nistelrooy was very good.”

After naming Sergio Aguero, many United fans have lashed out at Marcus Rashford but we can understand why the England international would name the Man City as the benchmark.
