Mikel Arteta took charge of Arsenal in the month of December of last year but the progress under the new manager has been really slow.

The Gunners have now beaten Liverpool and Manchester City in back to back games which is a great confidence booster for the North London side. And the win against the Citizens mean Arsenal are now in the final of the FA Cup where they will take on Chelsea at Wembley.

In a recent interview, Kevin Campbell has said claimed that Mikel Arteta has done more than a decent job since taking over from Unai Emery.

“Arteta came into a difficult situation but there has been some initial success,” Kevin Campbell said, as per Goal.

“It’s a difficult situation, to define success by if you’ve won a trophy but I think the small battles he’s won are important.

“He’s improved the players, integrated some of the youngsters into the squad more successfully and the youngsters have responded to his coaching and to the message he sends out.

“Ultimately, his success is going to be judged on how Arsenal finish the season and how far they get in the FA Cup. So in that respect, yes it has had a level of success for sure.”

After picking up the win against Manchester City, Arsenal have been instilled with a new belief and if they can manage to pick up a silverware then it will surely be a partial success for Mikel Arteta.

Next up, the London side will take on Aston Villa and Watford in the Premier League so there’s not much to sweat for the manager. But some experts think the aspiration of qualifying for Europe next season might cause mental hindrance to the Arsenal players in their next couple of matches.
