Philippe Coutinho looks all set to return back to the Premier League in the summer and as per the Express, Chelsea could be his next destination.

The player is currently on loan at Bayern Munich but the club have revealed that they do not intend to sign the Barcelona failure on a permanent deal next season.

“The option expired and we haven’t activated it,” Bayern Munich chief Karl-HeinzRummenigge told Der Spiegel magazine on Friday, as reported by Football London.

“Now we’re going to draw up squad planning internally (for next season) and we’ll see if he still has a role to play with us or not.”

And as per the report in the Express, it’s Frank Lampard’s Chelsea who are likely to get their hands on Philippe Coutinho and it’s really bad news for teams like Arsenal and Spurs who have also been chasing the playmaker.

Express write: “Chelsea have emerged as favourites to land Brazilian playmaker Philippe Coutinho after Bayern Munich opted not to exercise an option to buy.

“The former Liverpool man has spent the second half of this season on loan at the German giants, but they aren’t interested in meeting the £110million asking price.

“Barcelona have made it clear that Coutinho is surplus to requirements after he failed to impress following his move from Liverpool in January 2018.”

Should Philippe Coutinho snub a move to Chelsea?

Chelsea have been after Philippe Coutinho for a couple of months now and it finally looks like they will be able to get their hands on the player.

But we think the player should think about refusing a move to Stamford Bridge and join one of the two North London clubs if he is serious about resurrecting his career.

Yes, he will most probably not get to play in the Champions League next season but a move to either Arsenal or Tottenham will ensure that he not only gets to play each and every game but is also the star of the show.

At Chelsea, he will most certainly get the luxurious treatment but at the same time, he will have to compete with players like Mason Mount and Ruben Loftus-Cheek who are considered as the future of the club.

Barcelona in no ways want the playmaker to return back to Camp Nou next season so now Philippe Coutinho will have to choose his next destination in England.
