Chelsea have been linked with a move for Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha and as per reports, Frank Lampard could try and sign him in January.

Zaha has been linked with a number of big English clubs but some experts feel the Blues could be the frontrunners to sign the player in case they make any serious move to sign the winger.

But according to Pat Nevin, Chelsea does not need to sign Wilfried Zaha and here why.

“Maybe in Callum (Hudson-Odoi) we already have this player at the club, even if the likes of Wilfried Zaha have been mentioned,” he told the club website as reported.

“Callum has many talents, but that ability to go past defenders and disrupt organised defences is priceless in the modern game.

“Actually it has always been important but it is all the more noticeable now there are fewer players who can actually do it regularly.

“This is the thing we have been missing more than anything else.”

Zaha has been in top form for Palace ever since he rejoined the club from Manchester United and last summer he really wanted to head out of Selhurst Park.

While Nevin really hopes that Frank Lampard tries to use the talent in hand but we are pretty sure that the manager will bring in attacking reinforcement and the Ivorian could be one of them.

The Blues are really interested in signing Wilfried Zaha this month but as per the latest reports, the Eagles reportedly want £80 million as transfer price for the winger and this amount will surely make Lampard think twice.
