Wilfried Zaha turned out to be a major flop for Manchester United but ever since he returned back to Crystal Palace, his fortunes have taken a turn for the good.
Wilfried Zaha left Man United and returned back to Palace back in 2015 and last season he was easily one of the best players for Roy Hodgson’s side.
The winger played in 34 Premier League games last campaign – scoring 10 and assisting 10 for his side.
And now, Palace are struggling to hold onto him during the summer transfer window.
Wilfried Zaha has been linked with a move back to Manchester United but recently Arsenal have come up as a shock destination for the Ivorian international.
Reports have suggested that the Gunners have launched a £40 million for Wilfried Zaha which falls way short of Palace’s demands for their most prized possession.
But the North London side have been given a ray of hope as the winger’s brother has now claimed that playing for Arsenal is a dream for Wilfried Zaha.
Zaha’ brother Judicael telling Sky Sports News: “Wilfried will always hold Crystal Palace and their fans in the highest regard and all the support they have given means the world to him.
“It’s my brother’s dream though, to play for Arsenal.
“Given all that Wilfried has given to Crystal Palace to help them remain a Premier League club, I hope Palace will be able to see their way to agreeing a deal with Arsenal that allows Wilfried to realise his dream of playing European Football for the club he’s supported since childhood.”
This statement will surely give big leverage to Arsenal but we do not feel that Crystal Palace will accept anything less than £70 million for Wilfried Zaha.
And given that the Gunners are working on a limited budget this summer, we doubt if Emery will be able to gather that much money before the transfer window shuts down.
