Jose Mourinho Tottenham take on Chelsea

Manchester United superstar Alexis Sanchez has suffered a hamstring injury and he is expected to be out of action for a couple of weeks.

The club announced that the Chilean international suffered the injury on Thursday and the extent of it will only be known after further assessments.

But initial reports are nothing sounding good particularly for the Man United fans.

Rumours have it that Alexis Sanchez could be out for a couple of weeks meaning the forward will be sidelined for a series of high profile games.

Sanchez’s injury comes at the worst possible time for Jose Mourinho given the teams are just about to enter the super busy Christmas time.

The first big match that Alexis Sanchez will miss will be against his former club Arsenal when Unai Emery’s side visit Old Trafford next Wednesday.

The forward will also miss Man United’s final group game in the Champions League vs Valencia and their Premier League encounter vs Fulham.

But some reports in England are also suggesting that if the injury is at all serious then Alexis Sanchez will also be unavailable for the high-profile game against Liverpool on the 16th of December.

The 29-year-old has fallen down the pecking order under Jose Mourinho during the past couple of weeks meaning the Man United might not feel too worried as far as his team selection is concerned.

But the Chilean still remains very much a threat and his absence means Man United will have one less attacking option.

And for a team which is struggling to score goals, this is a fairly big concern.
