Alphonso Davies has been wanted by Real Madrid but as per the latest reports, Premier League side Man City are also interested in signing the left-back.

Davies’ contract with Bayern Munich is set to expire in the summer of 2025 but talks over an extension are not going ideally. And Madrid are looking to seek this opportunity to lure the 23-year-old out of Germany.

Madrid are ready to cough up to £60 million for the defender but it seems Pep Guardiola has asked his management to join Ancelotti’s side in this transfer race.

It’s no surprise that two of the biggest European clubs want to sign Alphonso Davies who’s played close to 200 games across all competitions at the age of just 23. This season, he’s started 15 Bundesliga games for Bayern and Tuchel knows fully well how important he is which is why the management has already offered him a new and improved extension.

According to journalist David Ornstein, Bayern’s offer is significantly better than Madrid and as things stand, Alphonso Davies is expected to put pen to paper.

Ornstein wrote for The Athletic(as quoted): ‘The Real Madrid interest is well documented, but the last I heard, the Bayern Munich contract proposal was superior, so unless that has changed or does subsequently, the expectation is that he will renew.’

This is obviously a big blow for Ancelotti’s plans but the entry of Manchester City can change the dynamics very quickly. Guardiola has not been able to replace Joao Cancelo and right now, Gvardiol and Nathan Ake are alternating at left-back. If Pep is serious about signing Davies then they won’t mind splurging.

As far as Alphonso Davies is concerned, he is said to be keen to leave Bayern Munich knowing that Real Madrid is interested in him which means Madrid and even Man City still stand a chance given the fact they are willing to raise the stakes above the Bavarians’s current offer.
