Arsenal travel to the King Power Stadium on Saturday to take on Leicester City in the English Premier League and before the match, Unai Emery has dropped a key tactical hint.

The Spanish manager will be going into this key game with a number of selection concerns and during the past weekend, there have been rumours that Unai Emery might field a three-man defensive line vs the Foxes during the weekend.

And on Friday, Unai Emery was asked the very same question to which he said[as reported by Football London]:

“There is a possibility that we can start with three but if not we can also use it during the match,

“Above all the most important thing is our mentality and to go there thinking ‘We are Arsenal’ and to go there with confidence.

“Tactically, the players are able to use different systems. This does not change our idea on how we can impose our style on the pitch.”

The Arsenal boss is not unfamiliar with using three men in the backline as the manager has often used this formation against the big names in the league.

But if he were to deploy the same formation today then it will be more or less certain that Emery’s top priority is defence management.

Right now David Luiz and Sokratis play as the two central midfielders for Arsenal in the Premier League but if Emery were to use a three-man backline then we believe it will be Rob Holding who will play as the extra defender.

Also, Callum Chambers has been playing as the right-back for the Gunners during the past couple of weeks but if they were to use a right wing-back then hopefully Hector Bellerin will come into the side because of his pace while going forward.

It is still unclear as to how Unai Emery will use his first XI vs the Foxes but one thing’s for sure. If the Gunners can manage to command the midfield region then surely they will have the upper hand on Saturday.
