Dani Ceballos joined Arsenal during last summer on a season-long loan deal but the player has found life really hard in the Premier League.

His time in England has been marred by various injuries and there was a point that the player wanted to head back to Spain during the start of the year.

But Arsenal eventually did not let that happen and right now, he’s back into the first XI managing to play a series of matches.

And now with Dani Ceballos playing regular football, there have been rumours that Mikel Arteta is already making plans to make the signing permanent during the summer.

The manager though has made it clear that while the player has been getting the minutes under his belt but he is yet to hold any contract discussions.

Arteta told The Mirror: “We haven’t had any discussions about it [a permanent deal]. I’m really happy with Dani and what he’s bringing to the team right now.

“It took him a while after his injury to get to the level that he has and that I’ve seen in the past. He’s performing much better now and that’s why he’s playing much more games.”

Will Dani Ceballos get a permanent deal?

During the 2019-20 season, Dani Ceballos has managed to play in only 13 Premier League games and has managed to provide only two assists which is really low given that he was supposed to be the playmaker for the Gunners.

But under Mikel Arteta, the midfielder is playing in a more deeper role alongside Granit Xhaka and so far the player has not done much wrong after his return from injury.

And now that Lucas Torreira has picked up an injury, Ceballos should get even more gametime under his belt without being really challenged for his position.

Dani Ceballos still has time to sort things out and pick up a permanent deal at the club but last season Arsenal made a couple of bad decisions regarding their player signings which is why the manager will surely not want to rush things.
