Chelsea might finally be able to get their hands on West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice, despite the Hammers refusing to sell him.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has recently said, as per talkSPORT: “Chelsea are trying to do the same [as Liverpool]. ‘We want the big targets and not the plan B back up option.’
“If you talk with West Ham, you have to be honest, they’re saying the player is staying and the player is not moving.
“It won’t be easy and Chelsea are now considering selling players.
“But Declan Rice will push to join Chelsea. He will go strongly to join Chelsea
“We will have to see what will happen because he also respects West Ham as normal but he’s going to tell West Ham ‘I want to join Chelsea’.”
Will Declan Rice be able to join Chelsea this summer?
West Ham United are clearly against the idea of selling Declan Rice this summer, despite the huge financial hit they have taken due to the pandemic.
But if the player hands in a transfer request then Moyes will have no other option but to accept the inevitable and send the player to Stamford Bridge.
As per the current scenario, Chelsea are yet to make a formal offer but various rumours in London are claiming that the Blues management is going to try and make a bid pretty soon.
The 21-year-old is currently valued at around £80 million by the Hammers which is a really steep price to pay for Chelsea considering they have shelled out so much already.
But if the Blues have decided to make a move for Declan Rice then they surely have the finances in their kitty to make the deal happen.
So clearly, money is not the issue here but what remains to be seen is if Chelsea can wrap up the transfer before the transfer window shuts down.
