Man United defender Harry Maguire missed the 3-0 win over Derby County on Thursday due to an injury and as per reports, the player could be out of the Manchester Derby too.

The manager revealed after the FA Cup clash that Harry Maguire was supposed to play vs the Rams but he twisted his ankle which is why he missed out.

“It is touch and go because he rolled his ankle and twisted his ankle,” manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer via Sky Sports.

“But hopefully he will recover quickly. I wasn’t going to rest him today. I didn’t give him the day off birthday wise. So I hope he will be fit.”

Harry Maguire also showed his disappointment in missing out but hoped he would be back soon.

And now Sky Sports are claiming that the central defender is now a doubt for the Manchester Derby scheduled for this Sunday.

The report states: “Harry Maguire is doubtful for Sunday’s Manchester derby after missing Manchester United’s FA Cup tie at Derby with a slight ankle injury.”

Will Harry Maguire play in the Manchester Derby?

While the report by Sky Sports claim the player might be a doubt but we don’t believe the injury is too serious and the manager kept him out of the FA Cup clash only as a precaution.

And if this was not reason enough, some fans believe that manager had actually given the player time off since it was his birthday and that he is not injured at all.

But in case Harry Maguire is actually out of the Manchester Derby then the manager will have to name Eric Bailly alongside Victor Lindelof in central defence on Sunday.
