Liverpool's Jordan Henderson playing for England

Liverpool will take on Man City next weekend in the Premier League and midfielder Jordan Henderson is still a doubt for that game.

Jordan Henderson missed training before Liverpool’s Champions League clash vs Genk and to add to all the rumours, he also did not feature in the matchday squad.

While some reports claimed that he might have picked up an injury but later it was revealed that Hendo was only ill which is why the manager chose to give him the night off.

Liverpool beat Genk 2-1 on Tuesday and after the match, Klopp was asked about the health of Jordan Henderson to which he said.

“Jordan was in bed. I hope he is better but I didn’t speak to him after the game,” he said.

The fact that he did not pick up an injury is a massive boost for Liverpool but it still remains to be seen whether he can make a full recovery before Man City come to town on Sunday.

Even if Jordan Henderson is deemed unfit to start vs City then too it shouldn’t be a major cause of concern for the manager since he has a number of players who can do the same job.

But if Hendo does make himself available then surely he is a guaranteed starter on Sunday vs Pepe Guardiola’s side.

Liverpool right now have a six-point lead at the top of the table but the fact that Joel Matip and now possibly Jordan Henderson are out, Jurgen Klopp does have a few things to worry about.

Man City are currently having problems of their own with Fernandinho playing in central defence and Liverpool will be hoping to capitalize early on these mistakes on Sunday.
