As per Spanish outlet AS, Joshua Kimmich could be up for sale and right now, Manchester United along with Liverpool are being linked with the midfielder.
There have been rumours that the 28-year-old has had a falling out with manager Thomas Tuchel which is why Bayern Munich are ready to cash in on him. Also, his contract expires in 2025 and if he is not willing to sign an extension then the Bavarians will probably look to get rid of him before the 2024/25 season begins.
Man United have been linked with Joshua Kimmich for some time with many viewing him as Ten Hag’s first-choice replacement for Casemiro but United will have to fight it out with Liverpool if they are serious about signing the German international.
Just like Manchester United, Liverpool are also amidst a big central midfield crisis this season which is why Klopp is also looking to bring in proper reinforcements. Thiago has remained injured for most of this season and to make matters worse, Mac Allister has failed to adjust in a more central role since joining the Anfield outfit.
Kimmich has been on Bayern’s books since 2015 and to date, he’s played more than 350 games for the Bundesliga side. This season, he’s started all 11 league games for the club but it’s getting more and more likely that he is going to head out really soon.
Man United and Liverpool would love to sign him during the ongoing transfer window but there’s no way Bayern Munich will offload such an important player during the middle of the season.
Also, Saudi side Al Ahli Jeddah are interested in signing Joshua Kimmich in the summer so the Bavarians will want to wait until May so that they have the opportunity to bag a sizeable offer for the midfielder.
Kimmich can very easily be the long-term replacement for someone like Casemiro or Thiago Alcantara however, both Man United and Liverpool will not only have to wait till the end of the season but at the same time, they will have to be ready to pay a premium price for the 28-year-old because Joshua Kimmich is currently valued at €78 million.
