Liverpool beat Everton 1-0 in a dramatic Merseyside Derby on Sunday and Jurgen Klopp was easily the happiest man inside the stadium.

Jurgen Klopp is widely regarded as one of the most passionate managers in world football and in a new level of extreme, the German chose to dash onto the pitch after Divock Origi scored a 96th-minute winner.

As soon as Origi put the ball into the back of the net many all the Liverpool played rushed towards the Kop to celebrate with the fans. And as it often happens, goalkeeper Alisson Becker was isolated on the other half of the pitch.

But Jurgen Klopp perhaps could not see his keeper celebrate all alone and decided to join him as he pushed halfway into the pitch.

This reaction from the Liverpool manager has received mixed reactions from the footballing world with a large number of people accusing the German of showing disrespect towards the Everton side.

“I have to apologise because I didn’t want to be disrespectful – but I couldn’t stop myself. It just happened,” said the German.

“I’m not sure what the FA has to do in a situation like this but I will have to wait.

“If I could describe how I felt when the goal went in, then I would have control over it. We don’t want to look for excuses but that’s how it is.

“The plan was not to run [on to the pitch to celebrate]. When I chose to stop I was close to Alisson. He was surprised.”

Jurgen Klopp has since then come out to apologise for his wild behaviour but now it remains to be seen whether the Liverpool boss will receive any punishment from the FA.

Reports suggest the FA are looking into this matter and there is a possibility that Jurgen Klopp could receive punishment.

There is obviously the possibility of a touchline ban but some feel the Reds boss could be let off on the back of paying a hefty fine.

Jose Mourinho made a similar celebration in 2014 when Chelsea beat PSG in the Champions League but UEFA chose to let it go. That though was a dash down the touchline and not onto the pitch.

Like Mourinho, Huddersfield manager David Wagner also made a touchline dash during a game against Leeds which saw the German receive a two-game touchline ban.

Now it remains to be seen what the FA will do with Jurgen Klopp.
