Kalvin Phillips is more than willing to leave Manchester City this month and according to the Telegraph, PSG have shown an interest in signing the midfielder.

Phillips’ dream move to Man City has turned out to be a massive failure because since moving to the Etihad Stadium, the England international has featured in only 31 games across all competitions.

In a recent interview, Pep Guardiola has more or less made it clear that Phillips has no future at the club and right now, MCFC are actively looking for a buyer.

“I feel so sorry for my decision for him. I’ve said that many times. He doesn’t deserve what has happened to him and I’m so sorry,” Guardiola has admitted(as quoted).

“The only thing I can say about him is I am asking for good personalities and characters and he is a perfect example. And after that, I have to give him something and I didn’t do that.

“It’s just because I visualise some things and visualise the team and things – and I struggle to see him. I’m not very pleased [with myself] and I am so sorry for him. I will not say that [to him] because it is a business and I have to be a professional.”

With EURO 2024 just around the corner, Kalvin Phillips is desperate to get game time so that he does not lose his place in Gareth Southgate’s England side and right now, Newcastle United are interested in signing the central midfielder.

Newcastle United are looking to bring in someone to replace Sandro Tonali and Eddie Howe feels Phillips can be that man.

Up until now, the Magpies are the only big club who have been linked with Phillips but it looks like PSG are also keeping tabs on the England international.

A move to PSG will most certainly entice the 28-year-old but if he wants to play in the Euros then Kalvin Phillips will want to remain in England, close to Southgate’s eyes.

At PSG, he will be guaranteed silverware along with European football but right now, the only thing Phillips will want is to join a team where he can play regularly until the end of May.

The ex-Leeds man is useless to Manchester City so they don’t care if Kalvin Phillips joins an EPL rival or if he moves to Paris. However, City will favour a permanent sale rather than a loan move so if PSG are willing to sign him permanently then there’s a big chance that they can overtake Newcastle United as the favourites.

Teams like Crystal Palace and Fulham have also been mentioned but these two don’t stand a chance with teams like Newcastle and PSG standing ahead of them.
