Liverpool have now joined Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur in the race to sign attacking midfielder Nicolo Zaniolo from AS Roma – as per the latest rumours.

Last week, reports had claimed that Premier League clubs Manchester United and Spurs have shown an interest in signing the attacking midfielder but they will have to battle Italian powerhouse Juventus in order to lure the 20-year-old to England.

Leggo had claimed: “Faced with an offer in excess of 60 million, Petrachi will almost be forced to negotiate yet another painful sale of these years of US management.

“Juve is in the front row even if the English market is not excluded with Manchester United and Tottenham having been pressing for months.”

Liverpool eyeing a move for Nicolo Zaniolo?

And now it seems like Jurgen Klopp has also taken a keen interest in Nicolo Zaniolo and is planning to make a move for him during the upcoming transfer window.

Sports Mole are reporting: “Liverpool are reportedly considering a summer move for Roma attacker Nicolo Zaniolo.

“However, according to Corriere dello Sport, Liverpool are also in the hunt for Zaniolo amid suggestions that Roma will be forced into selling some of their best players this summer.

“The report claims that a delay in takeover talks with the Friedkin Group, coupled with the coronavirus outbreak, has put the Italian club in a difficult financial position ahead of the 2020-21 campaign”

Roma cannot even afford to pay €12 odd million to Arsenal for the services of Henrikh Mkhitaryan which clearly suggests that the Serie A side are badly in need of funds.

And so if a Premier League club is willing to pay around €60 million for the services of Zaniolo, AS Roma will be more than happy to let him leave.

Man United are prioritising a move for Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish and will only go after for the Roma midfielder if Grealish declines to join them. So at this point in time, it’s Liverpool and Spurs who are the standing in the front of the queue alongside Juventus.

Nicolo Zaniolo joined AS Roma from Inter Milan’s U19 side in the summer of 2018 and this season, the 20-year-old has scored four goals and assisted a further one in 18 Serie A matches.
