Arsenal have reportedly made contact with Marseille’s 25-year-old midfielder Morgan Sanson who also happens to be a target for Tottenham Hotspur.
The Le10Sport report claims: “Announced as one of the possible starters on the side of Olympique de Marseille, Morgan Sanson was approached by Arsenal.
“A Premier League club has chosen to take action! According to our information, this is Arsenal, a longtime courtier of Morgan Sanson and who has taken information from OM, as well as from the player’s entourage.
“No concrete offer has been made yet, but the Gunners are paying close attention to the situation.”
Will Morgan Sanson join Arsenal this summer?
The 25-year-old has been linked with a move to the Premier League this summer but it was thought that Tottenham Hotspur would be the club who would eventually sign him.
But now the entry of Arsenal into the mix has certainly made things a whole lot interesting.
The Gunners are planning to sell players like Matteo Guendouzi and Lucas Torreira this summer so if Morgan Sanson was to join them, he could get a lot of game time next season.
But having said that, Marseille reportedly want around £38 million which is surely a steep price for Arsenal at this point in time.
Spurs though are actively looking to bring in new players this summer so spending that much on a midfielder who has scored five and assisted five goals this past season should not be a big cause of concern.
