Odsonne Edouard has been on Arsenal’s transfer radar over the past month but according to teammate Christopher Jullien, the forward might snub a move out of Parkhead.
Edouard joined the Bhoys from PSG in 2018 and over the past two years, he’s caught the attention of a number of top European clubs. And with Arsenal set to lose Lacazette in the summer, there’s a huge buzz that the Gunners are looking at the Celtic man as their next long-term centre-forward.
But now, Jullien has revealed that the Frenchman is more than happy at Celtic and is not looking to head out despite a number of clubs interested in signing him.
“Odsonne is a good player and one day he will have a lot of clubs interested in him,” told Recordport.
“But he’s in a really good place right now with Celtic. He’s done some unbelievable stuff and I really hope that he’ll stay here.
“I enjoy playing with him and I want him to stay for as long as he can. That would be incredible for everyone at Celtic. He’s in a really good place. It’s so difficult just now with this situation. People speak about transfers but who knows when football will be back?
“After that, all the other stuff can happen. But don’t worry, I’m sure Odsonne is happy where he is. I’m sure he will stay. He is silent, he hides what he is feeling and he’s someone who controls his emotions.
“But he’s a really good guy, trust me. He is quite happy at Celtic.”
Will Odsonne Edouard snub a move to Arsenal?
Will all due respect to Celtic, Arsenal are just on another level so if they come calling both Odsonne Edouard as well as the Bhoys will be ready to make the deal happen.
Edouard will obviously want to play in the Premier League and possibly in the Champions League as well in the near future which is a wish that can only be fulfilled if he was to move out during the summer.
Also, if Arsenal were to part ways with Lacazette in the summer then Odsonne Edouard will get a free run in the first XI meaning there’s a very small chance of playing second fiddle to someone.
Apart from this, if Arsenal were to offer around £35 million then Celtic will be more than willing to part ways with the centre-forward as it’s a lot of money in terms of the Scottish league.
Also, due to the current lockdown, if the Bhoys can manage to get such a massive transfer fee for the Frenchman then surely they will not think twice before agreeing to the deal.
