Manchester United will travel to London this weekend to take on Arsenal in the Premier League and there’s a chance that summer signing Rasmus Hojlund could feature against the Gunners.

The summer signing picked up a stress fracture in his back during preseason training with Atalanta which is why he is yet to feature for Man United this season but his national team manager has hinted that Hojlund could feature in some capacity on Sunday.

Denmark coach, Kasper Hjumland has told Danish media that Rasmus Hojlund is back in training in full capacity and he could be in the matchday squad against the Gunners.

He told Bold.DK and TV2 Sport: “I’ve been in Manchester to watch Rasmus train and he’s in full gear, so he’ll probably be in the squad for the weekend. There is of course a caveat, and he must show that he is ready this week.

“I have been in Manchester and have some clear agreements with the club. He should preferably get some minutes so that we can see that he’s there.

“It’s evident that he is lacking in game time. But he will be playing a part. We’ll have to observe his contributions.”

Manchester United have paid around £72 million to Atalanta for the young striker so everyone is waiting to see what he will bring to the team but there’s a very slim chance that he is going to get a start this weekend.

His last competitive match was back in June when he played 71 minutes for Denmark so he’s very evidently lacking match fitness. Also, Arsenal are one of the best teams in England right now so there’s no way Erik ten Hag will throw Rasmus Hojlund into the deep end of the pool in his very first match for the club.

On Sunday, Jadon Sancho or Anthony Martial( if he does not leave the club) will start up front and if Hojlund is fully fit then he could feature as a sub in the second half. At best, the 20-year-old will get around 10-15 minutes under his belt.

Ten Hag tried using Sancho as a false nine during Man United’s pre-season matches and there’s a possibility that the manager will deploy the same tactics against Arsenal.
