Trent Alexander-Arnold is yet to sign a new deal with Liverpool and as per Fabrizio Romano, Spanish giants Real Madrid are keeping a close eye on the full-back.

TAA’s contract with the Reds expires in 2025 but Liverpool know how valuable he is which is why they opened talks of a new deal several months ago. However, Romano is claiming that the two parties are not involved in discussions at the moment and that seems to have tempted Real Madrid.

The transfer expert wrote on X: “Real Madrid are monitoring Trent Alexander-Arnold’s contract situation at Liverpool.

“His current deal expires in June ’25 with no talks underway as of now. Liverpool have not indicated any desire to sell at this stage. There’s no indication of player’s views so far.”

Will Real Madrid make a move for Trent Alexander-Arnold?

The full-back has been one of the top performers for Liverpool in recent times and lately, the right-back has also shone in a midfield role.

However, he is yet to committ his future to the club which is a bit worrying and many experts feel that Klopp’s imminent exit is one of the main reasons why Trent Alexander-Arnold is yet to put pen to paper. Mo Salah is poised to leave in the summer and maybe Liverpool’s primary focus is to hold onto the Egyptian international.

The English defender has featured in 21 Premier League games this season, scoring two and assisting four goals. His defensive abilities have always been under the scanner but going forward he is one of the best in the world.

Trent’s market value is €70 million right now and it’s very hard to see Real Madrid going after him at the end of this season. Madrid are possibly expecting him to shun a new contract offer from Liverpool so that they can sign him as a free agent next year.

Having said that Lucas Vázquez and Carvajal are the two right-backs for Madrid at the moment and both of them are 32 years old. Perez will have to find a replacement for them very soon and if Liverpool soften their stance regarding Trent Alexander-Arnold then the Los Blancos might just dive in during the upcoming transfer window.

The defender’s stance is not yet clear on what he wants to do in the future but he’s shown no signs of discontent at Liverpool which is a positive sign for the club’s management.
