Leeds United are reportedly keen to sign defender Rob Holding from Arsenal during the current transfer window.

The Daily Mail report claims: “Leeds are exploring a number of options to strengthen their frontline and midfield while they also want cover at left-back and centre back which is a priority.

“Marcelo Bielsa, who is close to extending his contract this week, is keen to re-sign Ben White from Brighton but that will be difficult.

“They have also considered Arsenal’s Rob Holding.”

Will Arsenal let Rob Holding join Leeds United?

Rob Holding has had an injury-hit season which is why he has managed to play in only eight Premier League matches for the Gunners.

But even if he is fully fit, we don’t think Mikel Arteta has any plans of using him extensively next season which is why if Leeds United come calling, the Gunners will not hesitate in letting him leave.

Arsenal are being linked with players like John Stones and there’s doubt that the manager will have to clear up a considerable amount of lockerroom space in order to bring in the new signing.

Having said that, Rob Holding is not the only option on Bielsa’s radar and the manager will only make a move for the misfit if he fails to bring Ben White back to Elland Road.

According to TransferMarkt, Holding has three more years left on his current contract and is currently valued at £8.55 million.
