Ryan Fraser has been linked with a move to Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham Hotspur in the recent months and according to Alex Bruce, the winger could go to major lengths to ensure that he secures a move to North London before the upcoming season.

Fraser joined Bournemouth in 2016 and he is out of contract at the end of this season following which he will be a free agent. And as per Bruce, the 26-year-old might not risk playing for the Cherries anymore this season, in order to preserve himself for the next chapter in his life.

“I think he’s a good little player but I think it’s deeper than that,” Bruce told Football Insider.

“The problem that they’ve got is that people like Fraser, who are out of contract, who are one of Bournemouth’s better players, when it comes to June 30th or whenever his contract finished, he’s well within his rights to go: ‘Hold on a minute, you’ve let my contract run out, I haven’t sorted anything out.’

“He might have a deal lined up, for argument’s sake, with Spurs, where does that leave Bournemouth? It creates all kind of problems.

‘Yes, I think he’d be a good player for Spurs in the long-term but short-term, where’s it going to leave Bournemouth?

“What happens if Fraser turns round and says: ‘Hold on, I’m not kicking a ball for anyone, I’m out of contract and I don’t want to risk getting injured.”

Will Ryan Fraser refuse to play for the Cherries?

As things are panning out, the Premier League could very well go beyond the month of June and 30th June is the time when the contracts of almost every player come to an end.

And if the PL does go on beyond that date then there’s every chance Ryan Fraser could decide to clear up his locker room at the Vitality Stadium in order to join Tottenham Hotspur for the upcoming season.
