Willian Chelsea
Willian playing for Chelsea

Willian is out of contract at Chelsea at the end of this season and as things stand, the club will not be giving him a new deal in the summer.

This means the winger is free to head out and chances are he will be playing in the Premier League during the 2020-21 campaign as well since he’s spent most of his playing career in England and his family are not keen to head out to another country after so long.

And with Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur both interested in signing him, Willian has now hinted about not hesitating to join one of Chelsea’s rivals in the summer.

He told Desimpedidos, via Daily Mail: ‘It really is a hard decision. I identified myself a lot at Chelsea, I have a lot of love for everyone at the club, and the fans.

‘However, it is like I said before, if I leave Chelsea with no trouble and leaving the doors open, it would be fine to move to a rival club.

‘I don’t know [if leaving London is a possibility], I like London and so does my family.

‘However, this is a question that I still don’t know the answer to, if I will stay at Chelsea, move to another team from London, or leave England.’

Will Willian join Arsenal or Spurs in the summer?

Both the North London clubs are highly interested in signing the winger but according to Martin Keown, the winger is likely to snub offers from both these clubs.

‘I don’t see him going to Arsenal,’ the former Gunners defender told talkSport. ‘I think he’s aiming for Barcelona or Real Madrid.

‘He’s an incredible talent. Chelsea will be weaker if he goes but Frank Lampard knows what he’s doing. I’m sure he wants to keep him.’

This statement can obviously come true but we feel, Willian is likely to remain in London next season and he could choose Spurs over Arsenal.

Both these sides can use Willian to the fullest but the winger has a special connection with Jose Mourinho which is why there’s a huge possibility the Spurs boss can play a key role in helping him make up his mind.
