Liverpool have made a wonderful start to the new season and many pundits are hoping that the Reds can win their first Premier League this campaign.

But it is not only the first team squad that are incredible. Apart from the recognized players even the academy players are doing a commendable job.

And one such player might just have the chance to shine during the 2018-19 season.

The player in question is Ryan Kent – who is currently on a season-long loan to Rangers FC.

At Ibrox, Ryan Kent is being managed by Steven Gerrard a former Liverpool midfielder and the winger might be in line to get a regular first team start during the coming months.

Ryan Kent plays down the left wing which is the area where Jamie Murphy operates for the Light Blues. This, in turn, meant that Gerrard would have to shuffle between Murphy and Kent with the former getting the first preference.

But now that is all set to change after the Gers manager revealed that Jamie Murphy has been ruled out for the rest of the season with an injury.

Gerrard has revealed that the winger will take no further part during the 2018-19 season after he injured himself last weekend during the Scottish League Cup game vs Kilmarnock.

And this could be a blessing in disguise for Liverpool’s loanee Ryan Kent.

Liverpool had sent out the youngster to Rangers in the hope that he receives some much-needed experience under Steven Gerrard and now with Jamie Murphy out of the equation, Ryan Kent might be the first choice when it comes to the left winger role.

If Ryan Kent gets game time under his belt during the current season then he will surely become a long-term asset for Jurgen Klopp.

Rangers play their next game in the Scottish Premiership this Sunday against Motherwell while Liverpool take on Brighton at Anfield on Saturday.
