Rangers FC have signed forward Kyle Lafferty from Hearts last week but the Light Blues are not yet done with their transfer business – according to reports.

The Gers have signed Connor Goldson and Nikola Katic during the summer transfer window and the duo are going to be the first choice central defensive pairing for Steven Gerrard during the 2018-19 season.

But the manager is still on the lookout for a central-back who can act as a back up to Goldson and Katic.

And after failing to sign a series of players, it seems that the Ibrox outfit have finally settled down on Nottingham Forest’s Joe Worrall.

Worrall is a youth product of Forest and the 21-year-old made his professional debut for the club back in 2016.

Since then Joe Worrall’s contributions to the side have increased tremendously and the centre-back played as many as 31 games for Nottingham Forest last season in the Championship.

But this season the 21-year-old has fallen down the pecking order at Forest and is not behind the likes of Danny Fox, Tobias Figueiredo, Michael Dawson and Michael Hefele.

Now reports suggest that Steven Gerrard is desperate to land the youngster before the transfer window shuts down at the end of the week and Rangers have also held negotiations with Forest over the loan move for Joe Worrall.

While Worrall is said to be excited with the prospect of playing under Steven Gerrard, Forest, on the other hand, are a bit sceptical about sending one of their prime talents to the Scottish Premiership.

The Ibrox outfit have reportedly offered a substantial figure for the season-long loan deal and the deal now solely rests on Nottingham Forest’s decision on whether to send Joe Worrall out on loan or not.
