Jurgen Klopp has totally transformed Liverpool ever since he took charge of the club a couple of years ago helping them win the Champions League last season.

And now former Liverpool man Xavi Alonso has revealed why it’s so hard to play against a side which is being managed by the German.

Alonso played against Klopp’s BVB when he was at Bayern Munich and according to the midfielder, a team led by the German creates organised pressure.

“I didn’t enjoy playing against them because they made it so intense, you’d almost break,” Alonso told The Athletic.

“It was like he [Klopp] wanted you to be in a cage. He wanted to trap you. There was an organised pressure. I was under pressure all the time.

“I enjoyed the mood around those games because they were so important but the challenge of beating Dortmund was immense.”

Right now Liverpool are the best team in England and most probably they will also be able to lift the Premier League title this season.

Also, the fact that their pressing game has reached a totally different level was experienced first-hand by Man City last weekend.

Pep Guardiola’s City are known to play an intense brand of football but Liverpool beat them to their own game at Anfield last Sunday. The Reds came out 3-1 winners in that match as Jurgen Klopp clearly sent out a team to start attacking from the very first whistle.

Right now, Liverpool have dropped just two points in the Premier League this season and have already opened up an eight-point lead at the top of the table which is why many pundits have predicted that Jurgen Klopp has already managed to kill off the title race – a feat which is rarely seen in such early stages in England.
