Lucas Torreira joined Arsenal from Sampdoria and great things were expected from the Uruguayan international.

Unfortunately though, the midfielder has played very little football this season which is a clear indication that Unai Emery does not have full faith on him.

Matteo Gunedouzi and Granit Xhaka had been playing in central midfield for the Gunners this season but now with Xhaka out of the picture, Lucas Torreira has been getting some game time for the past couple of matches.

But as per reports, this is still not enough to convince him to remain at the club as multiple reports claim he is planning to move out of the Emirates during the January transfer window.

While there have been various rumours regarding this transfer but now, the player’s agent has claimed that even though Lucas Torreira is happy at Arsenal right now but joining a new club could still be possible.

“Anything is possible in football,” Bentancur told Radio Marte[as reported].

“Torreira is happy at Arsenal, although the change in role has not made him happy.

“It must be said that this year the whole team is not doing well. But I believe Arsenal wants to keep him.”

Lucas Torreira had been heavily linked with a move to AC Milan before the start of the 2019-20 season and it’s being claimed that they will try and sign the midfielder once again.

But this time Milan aren’t the only ones interested in the 23-year-old since Napoli too have joined the race to sign him.

It’s being claimed that Napoli are in the risk of losing Allan at the end of the season which is why they want to bring in Lucas Torreira as his long-term replacement at the start of the new year.

While Arsenal are still trying to keep the Uruguayan at the club but Unai Emery will have to play a key role if he wishes to keep hold Lucas Torreira beyond the January transfer window.
