Arsenal are planning to bring in some new players during the January transfer window and it seems that their hunt has now taken them to Asia.
Unai Emery is keen to bring in a wide player this month and as per the latest reports, the Gunners have made contact with former Atletico Madrid man Yannick Carrasco.
Carrasco is currently playing in the Chinese Super League with Dalian Yifang but the player is yet to settle down at the club.
The winger has played in 25 games in the Super League scoring seven goals and providing nine assists but much like any other European player, Yannick Carrasco too is not happy with life in China.
Arsenal have made contact with Yifang in order to bring the player to the Emirates on a six-month loan spell but there is one big obstacle.
Right now Yannick Carrasco gets around £170,000 per-week in the form of wages but as per the rumours, the winger will have to take a hefty wage cut if he wishes to join the Premier League.
And this is where the problem is for Unai Emery since players like Mesut Ozil, Aubameyang and Mkhitaryan all get more wages right now meaning there is a high probability that Yannick Carrasco could refuse to lower his wage demands.
Unai Emery has already said that the club do not have any money to bring in permanent signing this month and this will also mean that the Gunners will also sigh away from signing any player which such high wage demands.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan has been ruled out for six weeks with an injury and Yannick Carrasco could be that player who can fill up that gap.
But the big problem for Arsenal right now is spending money.
