Rangers FC have signed a pre-contract with Dundee midfielder Glen Kamara – the club have confirmed.

Glen Kamara is out of contract at Dundee during the summer and will make a move to Ibrox then.

But recently some reports have suggested that the player might join the Gers this month itself.

Reports have suggested that Dundee is keen to sell off Glen Kamara in return of a transfer fee but Rangers director of football, Mark Allen had recently admitted that the midfielder moving to Ibrox this month looked to be a tough task.

“He is a Dundee player right now. We have just followed the principles to try and sign him in the summer,” Allen said.

“It was news to me that he had been called back, that is a Dundee question, not for me to answer at this stage.”

But now Dundee boss Jim McIntyre has told Sky Sports that talks are still ongoing with Rangers meaning Glen Kamara might actually move to Ibrox sometime this month.

“I think when a player signs a pre-contract nine times out of 10 he would rather move on,” McIntyre told Sky Sports News.

“Everybody is aware of that. Discussions are ongoing, we will see where it leads.”

Fans and pundits seem to be divided on the transfer of Glen Kamara with some arguing that the club should not spend a penny in trying to bring the midfielder to Ibrox this month.

Other though, feel the defensive midfielder could help Rangers push for the Premiership title this season and that Steven Gerrard should splash some cash and make the deal permanent during the coming few days.
