Arsenal have reportedly pulled out of the race to sign Chelsea centre-back David Luiz and are now looking at other options.

Arsene Wenger has been wanting to strengthen his defensive line for quite some time now and the Frenchman was eyeing to place a bid for Chelsea outcast David Luiz during the January transfer window.

But now according to reports, the Emirates outfit are no longer chasing the Brazilian International.

Luiz has fallen out of favour under Antonio Conte and the Blues are looking to offload the player as early as January. This has also to do with the fact that Conte seems to have found his perfect defensive trio in Rudiger, Christensen and Azpilicueta.

Manchester United along with Arsenal were interested in signing the former PSG man but Wenger will no longer pursue that player as the Gunners cannot match the player’s wage demands.

The report suggests that Wenger will now move for West Brom centre-back Jonny Evans. Evans has been the eyed by a series of Premier League clubs and Manchester City are undoubtedly his biggest suitors during the January transfer window.
