Manchester City suffered an embarrassing defeat at the hands of Liverpool last night as Pep Guardiola’s men slumped to a 3-0 defeat at Anfield. The Premier League leaders looked to be totally out of sync during the game and the Reds took advantage of this situation.

Jurgen Klopp’s men tore apart City’s defence and three quickfire goals from Mo Salah, Chamberlain and Sadio Mane were more than enough to seal a comfortable victory.

But Pep Guardiola was hoping that the second leg would be a much easier affair after Liverpool’s star player Mo Salah was substituted in the second half with what seemed to be a groin injury.

Jurgen Klopp did not waste any time in taking off the Egyptian who went straight down the tunnel.

Many Liverpool fans feared the worst as news started surfacing that the forward might be out for a long time.

Now though the German boss has revealed that Mo Salah is likely to return before the second leg of the quarter-finals scheduled to be played at the Etihad.

Klopp said: “He came to the sideline and said he feels something and that is enough for me to ask the doctor.

“After the game, I asked him and he said he feels fine so we have to wait for the diagnosis.”

Salah was easily the best men on the pitch for the Reds – scoring the first goal and setting up the third. And his withdrawal from the match gave a lot of City fans hope that they wouldn’t have to see him at the Etihad.

Now though, Jurgen Klopp has made it clear that Salah will be fit and ready to face Manchester City next week.
