The alarm bells have started ringing for Chelsea boss Antonio Conte as the news around Stamford Bridge is that the Italian can soon be shown the door.

According to a report in the Times, Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich paid a visit to the Blues training ground at Cobham and had a chat with the manager. And the pundits around England are thinking that this surprise visit means that Conte could very well receive the sack in the coming weeks.

Chelsea have had a very bad start to the new campaign – losing three out of their first 10 games in the league. This a total contrast to the previous season where the Blues lost just 5 games in the whole season. And the last few weeks have been a real eye-opener for the Italian manager. Conte has been without the services of few star players and this has really reflected on his team’s performances.

The Blues suffered a humiliating 3-0 defeat at the hands of AS Roma during midweek. And their next match this Sunday against arch-rivals Manchester United could very well be the acid test for Conte and his managerial regime.

A few days ago reports surfaced that the manager has the backing of the Chelsea board but now this untimely visit from the owner has certainly set the ball rolling for Conte’s sack.

Conte is very much aware of the pressure that he is under and he will definitely try and pick up all three points at home this Sunday. But this will be much easier said than done because the manager will once again miss some key players – namely N’Golo Kante and Victor Moses. Kante will most likely not be fit for the tie and Moses, on the other hand, is still recovering from an injury.
